Thomas Henry Alex "Hal" Robson-Kanu (born May 21, 1989 in London ) is a Welsh football player . He played on the Welsh national team .

Career

societies

Robson-Kanu started his career in the youth teams of Arsenal FC . At the age of 15 he joined Reading FC . With the exception of two short-term loans to Southend United and Swindon Town , Robson-Kanu only played for Reading FC. In the 2011/12 season he rose with the club as a second division champion in the Premier League . In his first first division season he scored seven goals; at the end of the season Reading FC rose again. In 2013/14 he just missed the promotion playoffs with Reading FC in seventh place, in 2014/15 and 2015/16 Reading FC then landed in the lower third of the table. His contract with Reading FC ran until the end of the 2015/16 season.

National team

Robson Kanu decided to play for the Welsh national team in 2010 because his grandmother is Welsh .

He played his first international match on May 23, 2010 in the friendly against Croatia when he came on for Robert Earnshaw in the 71st minute . While he only made two short appearances in the unsuccessful qualification for the EM 2012 , there were already eight appearances in the equally unsuccessful qualification for the 2014 World Cup . He scored his first international goal to win a 2-1 win against Scotland on March 22, 2013 .

In the successful qualification for the EM 2016 he was only missing in the first qualifying game against Andorra . In the 2-1 victory in the third qualifying game against Cyprus , which the Welsh ended up short, Robson-Kanu scored with his second international goal the goal to 2-0; in the closing stages he was substituted on for Jake Taylor .

He was part of the Welsh squad at the 2016 European Football Championship in France . In the opening game against Slovakia , he came on in the 71st minute and scored the 2-1 ten minutes later with his third international goal. Robson-Kanu made their first win in the Welsh's first ever EM game perfect. In the second game against England (1: 2) he was substituted after 72 minutes. In the 3-1 victory in the quarter-finals against Belgium he was in the starting line-up and scored the goal to make it 2-1. In the semi-final against Portugal , which was lost 2-0 , he was replaced after 63 minutes.

In his 44 international matches, he only played five times over the entire playing time. In August 2018 he announced his resignation from the national team.
