Kamil Paweł Grosicki (born June 8, 1988 in Szczecin ) is a Polish football player .

Club career

Grosicki went through the youth teams at Pogoń Stettin and made his debut in the professional team in the Ekstraklasa in 2006 . In 2007 he moved to the top Polish team KP Legia Warsaw . Here he made eleven league appearances and one goal. In 2008 he moved abroad on loan to FC Sion in Switzerland . However, he could not assert himself here and returned to Jagiellonia Białystok in Poland in 2009 . Since then he has been a regular player and was able to win the Polish Cup and the Polish Supercup with Jagiellonia . After three years in Turkey at Sivasspor , Grosicki moved to Stade Rennes in France on January 24, 2014 . Although he was used in most of the second half of the season and was also in the cup final with Rennes, he was unable to fully assert himself in the first half of the season. Things didn't go smoothly in the new season either and then a broken hand threw him back, so he couldn't train for four months. And although he still prepared three goals in the remaining second half of the season, he was still waiting for his first goal in Ligue 1 after a year and a half . He finally came on the second match day of the 2015/16 season with a joker goal to the 1-0 win against HSC Montpellier and with that came the breakthrough. In a total of 33 games he scored 9 goals and gave 4 assists in this season. He moved to Hull City in January 2017 .

National team

Grosicki made his debut in the Polish national football team on February 2, 2008 in the 1-0 win against Finland , when he came on in the 80th minute for Marek Zieńczuk . He played another friendly game, but was not considered for the European Championship in the same year. After that he was only used sporadically, only in 2011 he played several games in a row.

In preparation for the 2012 European Football Championship , in which Poland was co-host, it was then tested several times and finally included in the EM squad . In the third round game against the Czech Republic he was substituted in in the last third, but could no longer help to prevent the 0-1 defeat and thus the elimination of his country.

After a long, injury-related national team break, Grosicki returned to qualifying for the European Championship in France in 2014. He became a regular player and was called up again in Poland's EM squad . In 2 of the 3 group games he was only used as a substitute in the closing stages, only against Germany he was in the starting line-up. In the last sixteen and in the quarter-finals he was also part of the starting line-up and against both Switzerland and Portugal he provided the template for the Polish 1-0 lead. They lost the game against Portugal on penalties.

At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, he was part of the Polish squad . He was used in all group games and retired with the team after the group stage.
