Big Eden (alternative title Big Eden… a little miracle ) is an American film from 2000 , directed and written by Thomas Bezucha .
action
The film is about the successful, homosexual artist Henry Hart, who has spent his previous professional life in New York City . He returns to his hometown in Montana to care for his dying grandfather. When he returns, he is faced with his unresolved feelings about his high school friend Dean Stewart. At the same time, he begins to fall in love with the shy Pike Dexter, the owner of a local department store. What is striking in the film is the complete absence of homophobia in the hometown.
criticism
“Exquisitely photographed, carefully and with great empathy developed story of a homosexual encounter. At the same time, the film provides knowledgeable insights into the life of a rural community in the American province. "
“It's not like the movie lacks grace and warmth. The story has a certain charm until the film becomes unbearably greasy. "
