Aston Villa

Callum Robinson, who was born in Northampton in central England , comes from the youth department of the traditional Aston Villa club from Birmingham , which he joined when he was a child. On September 24, 2013 he made his first-team debut in the 4-0 home defeat by Tottenham Hotspur when he came on for Aleksandar Tonew in the 82nd minute . On April 19, 2014 (35th matchday) he made his debut in the 0-0 draw against FC Southampton in the top English division when he came on for Andreas Weimann in the closing stages . In the remaining four games of the season he was allowed three more short appearances.

Loan to Preston North End

After playing no role at Aston Villa at the beginning of the 2014/15 season , he was on loan to third division Preston North End for a month on September 16, 2014 . On September 16, 2014 (8th matchday) he played his first league game in a 3-3 draw against Chesterfield FC when he came on for Paul Gallagher in the 67th minute . Robinson quickly made it into the starting line-up and scored his first goal of the season on October 28 (catch-up game of matchday 6) in a 2-0 away win against Leyton Orient . In the first round of the FA Cup , he promoted his team against the amateur club Havant & Waterlooville with a three-pack in the next round. After scoring five goals in 11 competitive games, he was ordered back by Villa on November 25, 2014. At the Villans he was again not considered and on February 2, 2015 he returned to Preston as a loan player. In this season 2014/15 he completed 26 league games for Preston North End, in which he was able to collect four goals and four assists and rose with the team in the Football League Championship .
