Moussa Sow (born January 19, 1986 in Mantes-la-Jolie , France ) is a Senegalese soccer player who also has French citizenship .

Career

society

Moussa Sow began his professional career in 2004 in Brittany at the French first division club Stade Rennes , for which he was used in both the reserve and the professional team. The then 18-year-old made his professional debut in October 2004 in Ligue 1 against FC Metz when he came on for Alexander Frei in the 87th minute . On November 3, 2005, he made his game debut in the European Cup against Rapid Bucharest in the group stage of the UEFA Cup . Sow scored his first goals with the professionals of Stade Rennes in January 2006 in the first round of the French Cup against USC Corte ; he scored two goals in two minutes for a 3-2 win for his team.

Shortly after the start of the 2007/08 season , he was loaned to the French second division club CS Sedan for the rest of the season . With Sedan, Sow just missed promotion to fourth in Ligue 2 . He also reached the semi-finals of the French Cup with the team and was eliminated from the eventual cup winners Olympique Lyon .

From 2010 he played for Lille OSC. In the 2010/11 season, Sow was Ligue 1's top scorer with 25 goals. In that season he won the French Cup and the French championship with Lille OSC .

27 January 2012 changed Sow for ten million euro transfer fee to Turkey for Fenerbahce , where he signed a four and a half year contract.

At the end of August 2015, he moved to Al-Ahli Dubai in the United Arab Emirates for a transfer fee of sixteen million euros , where he signed a three-year contract; his shirt number was 8. In addition, Sow received one million euros in hand money when he switched to Al-Ahli Dubai. In his second league game on October 15, 2015, he scored his first goal of the season in a 3-1 win over Al-Sharjah . In the 2015/16 season , Al-Ahli was Dubai champion and Sow was the best scorer of his team with 13 goals in 24 competitive games and finished seventh on the list of goalscorers.

On August 31, 2016, Sow returned to the Süper Lig and was loaned to the Turkish first division club Fenerbahçe Istanbul for the 2016/17 season. Moussa Sow scored his first goal of the season in a 5-1 win over Kasımpaşa Istanbul . Since October 2nd, 2017 he has been playing again for Al-Ahli Dubai . But at the beginning of January 2018 there was another change for six months, this time to Bursaspor . In January 2019 he moved to the Turkish second division to Gazişehir Gaziantep FK .

National team

Sow went through the French junior national teams of the U-19 and U-21 , in addition he won the 2005 European Championship in Northern Ireland with the U-19 juniors .

Later (2009) Moussa Sow decided to play for the Senegalese national team in the future. He made his international debut in September 2009 in the friendly against Angola and a year later he also scored his first international goal in a 4-2 win in the 2012 Africa Cup qualifier against the Democratic Republic of the Congo .

Sow was appointed to the Senegalese squad for the 2018 World Cup , but he was not used. In August 2018 he announced his resignation from the national team after a total of 50 international matches and scored 18 goals.
