The Amiens Sporting Club is a French football club in Amiens , Somme department .

On October 6, 1901, the Amiens Athlétic Club ; founded; from 1961 to 1989 it was called the Sporting Club d'Amiens and has been under its current name ever since. The club colors are white and black; the league team plays at the Stade de la Licorne , which has a capacity of 12,097 seats.

The club president is Bernard Joannin; the first team has been coached by Christophe Pélissier since New Year 2015 , who had previously made a significant contribution to the rise of the "mountain village club" Luzenac Ariège Pyrénées for eight years .

League affiliation

The association was and is active in the professional field from 1933 to 1952 and again since 1993. The club played first-class ( Division 1 , renamed Ligue 1 since 2002 ) during the unofficial war championships from 1941 to 1943 and from 2017 to 2020 .
