The Brantley County is located in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Nahunta .
geography
The county is located in southeast Georgia, about 70 km to the southeast from the Atlantic Ocean and about 60 km to the south from the northern border of the US state Florida . It covers an area of 1,159 square kilometers, of which eight square kilometers are water and is bordered clockwise by Wayne County , Glynn County , Camden County , Charlton County , Ware County, and Pierce Counties .
The county is part of the metropolitan area of Brunswick .
history
Brantley County was formed on August 14, 1920 from parts of Charlton County, Pierce County and Wayne County. It was named after Benjamin D. Brantley , a member of a distinguished family that later became Senator William Goodman Brantley .
