The Terrell County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Dawson .

The county is located in central southwest Georgia, about 70 km to the west from Alabama and covers an area of 874 square kilometers, of which six square kilometers are water, and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Sumter County , Lee County , Dougherty County , Calhoun County , Randolph County, and Webster County .
The county is part of the Albany metropolitan area .
history
Terrell County was formed on February 16, 1856 as the 113th County in Georgia from parts of Randolph County and Lee County. It was named after Dr. William Terrell , a member of Congress.
