The Pulaski County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Hawkinsville , named after Colonel Benjamin Hawkins , a hero in the Revolutionary War.

The county is located just south of the geographic center of Georgia and covers an area of ​​647 square kilometers, of which six square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Bleckley County , Dodge County , Wilcox County , Dooly County, and Houston Counties .

The county is part of the Warner Robins metropolitan area .

history

Pulaski County was formed on December 13, 1808 as the 36th County in Georgia from parts of Laurens County. It was named after the Polish general Casimir Pulaski , who was fatally wounded in the Revolutionary War near Savannah.
