The Pulaski County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Hawkinsville , named after Colonel Benjamin Hawkins , a hero in the Revolutionary War.

The county is located just south of the geographic center of Georgia and covers an area of 647 square kilometers, of which six square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Bleckley County , Dodge County , Wilcox County , Dooly County, and Houston Counties .
The county is part of the Warner Robins metropolitan area .
history
Pulaski County was formed on December 13, 1808 as the 36th County in Georgia from parts of Laurens County. It was named after the Polish general Casimir Pulaski , who was fatally wounded in the Revolutionary War near Savannah.
