The Bacon County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Alma .
geography
The county covers an area of 741 square kilometers, of which three square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Appling County , Pierce County , Ware County , Coffee County, and Jeff Davis Counties .
history
The county was formed as the 149th county on July 27, 1917 and named after Augustus Bacon , who served four terms as a senator and died in his office.

The still standing historical building Bacon County Courthouse , built in 1914, the Alma Depot and the Rabinowitz Building as well as the two nature reserves in the Bacon Area and Whitehead Creek Area .
