The Crisp County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Cordele , named after the daughter of the President of the Savannah, Americus, and Montgomery Railroad .

The county is located in south-central Georgia, about 140 km from the northern Florida border and has an area of 728 square kilometers, of which 19 square kilometers are water surface and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Dooly County , Wilcox County , Turner County , Worth County , Lee County and Sumter County .
history
Crisp County was formed from Dooly County on August 17, 1905. It was named after Charles Frederick Crisp , a lawyer and speaker of the US House of Representatives from 1891 to 1893.
