The Telfair County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is McRae-Helena .

The county is located in central southeast Georgia and covers an area of 1,150 square kilometers, of which eight square kilometers are water, and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Wheeler County , Jeff Davis County , Coffee County , Ben Hill County , Wilcox County, and Dodge County .
history
Telfair County was formed on December 10, 1807 as the 35th County of Georgia. It was named after Edward Telfair , a native Scotsman and governor of Georgia.
