The Bulloch County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Statesboro .

geography

The county is located in eastern Georgia, about 80 km to the southeast from the Atlantic Ocean and about 40 km to the east from the neighboring state of South Carolina . It has an area of ​​1,784 square kilometers, of which 18 square kilometers are water and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Screven County , Effingham County , Bryan County , Evans County , Candler County , Emanuel County and Jenkins County .

history

Bulloch County was formed on February 8, 1796 as the 21st county in the Georgia Territory. It was named after Archibald Bulloch , the first governor of the Georgia Territory.

The average annual income per household was 35,642 USD , while 33.1% of the population lived below the poverty line.
