The county is roughly in the middle of Georgia and has an area of ​​568 square kilometers, of which five square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Laurens County , Dodge County , Pulaski County , Houston County, and Twiggs County .

history

Bleckley County was formed on July 30, 1912 as the 145th county from parts of Pulaski County and named after Logan Bleckley , a Georgia Supreme Court Justice.
