The Screven County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Sylvania .

The county is located in the far east of Georgia, on the border with South Carolina and has an area of 1,698 square kilometers, of which 18 square kilometers are water surface and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Effingham County , Bulloch County , Jenkins County and Burke County .
history
Screven County was formed on December 14, 1793 as the 14th County of Georgia from parts of Burke County and Effingham County. It was named after General James Screven , who was mortally wounded in the Revolutionary War. Screven County later became Bulloch County and Jenkins Counties.
