The Webster County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Preston.

The county is located in central southwest Georgia, about 45 km to the west from Alabama , covers an area of ​​545 square kilometers, of which two square kilometers are water, and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Sumter County , Terrell County , Randolph County , Stewart County and Marion County .

history

Webster County was formed on December 16, 1853 as the 103rd County of Georgia from parts of Stewart County. It was named after Daniel Webster .
