The Rockdale County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Conyers .

The county is located in north-central Georgia and covers an area of ​​342 square kilometers, of which four square kilometers are water surface, and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Walton County , Newton County , Henry County , DeKalb County, and Gwinnett County .

The county is part of the metropolitan area of ​​Atlanta .

history

Rockdale County was formed on October 18, 1870 as the 133rd County in Georgia from parts of Henry County and Newton County. It was named after the Rockdale Church.
