The Talbot County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Talbotton .

The county is located in western Georgia, about 50 km from Alabama and has an area of 1,022 square kilometers, of which four square kilometers are water surface, and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Upson County , Taylor County , Marion County , Chattahoochee County , Muscogee County , Harris County, and Meriwether County .
history
Talbot County was formed on December 14, 1827 as the 74th County from parts of Muscogee County. It was named after Governor Matthew Talbot , who was also President of the Georgia Senate.

According to the 2010 census, the then 6,865 inhabitants were distributed over 2,832 inhabited households, which gives an average of 2.42 people per household. There are a total of 3399 households.
