Talbotton is centrally located in Talbot County. The neighboring towns are Woodland , Manchester and Waverly Hall . The next larger city, Columbus , is about 49 kilometers west, the capital of Georgia, Atlanta , about 121 kilometers north. The urban area extends over an area of 8.1 km².
