The Dooly County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The administrative seat ( county seat ) is Vienna , named after the Austrian capital Vienna .

The county is located about 50 km south of the geographic center of Georgia and covers an area of 1,028 square kilometers, of which eleven square kilometers are water and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Houston County , Pulaski County , Wilcox County , Crisp County , Sumter County, and Macon County .

Dooly County was formed as the 48th County in Georgia as Original County on May 15, 1921. It was named after Colonel John Dooly , a hero of the revolution.
