The Dooly County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The administrative seat ( county seat ) is Vienna , named after the Austrian capital Vienna .

The county is located about 50 km south of the geographic center of Georgia and covers an area of ​​1,028 square kilometers, of which eleven square kilometers are water and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Houston County , Pulaski County , Wilcox County , Crisp County , Sumter County, and Macon County .

history

Dooly County was formed as the 48th County in Georgia as Original County on May 15, 1921. It was named after Colonel John Dooly , a hero of the revolution.
