The Chattooga County located in the US state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Summerville .

The county is located in northwest Georgia, borders Alabama to the west and is approximately 50 km from Tennessee to the north . It covers an area of 812 square kilometers, of which one square kilometer is water, and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Walker County , Gordon County, and Floyd Counties .
history
Chattooga County was formed on December 28, 1838 from parts of Floyd County and Walker County. It was named after the Chattooga River . Built in 1909, Summerville County Courthouse is listed on the National Database of Historic Places.
