The county is located in southern Georgia, about 25 miles from the northern Florida border and has an area of ​​604 square kilometers, of which eleven square kilometers are water and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Berrien County , Lowndes County , Brooks County , Colquitt County and Tift County .

history

Cook County was formed on July 30, 1918 as the 153rd County in Georgia from parts of Berrien County. It was named after Philip Cook , a general who fought in the Seminole and Civil War and was a Georgia minister for over 20 years.
