The Ware County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Waycross , so named because railway lines from six different directions meet here.

The county is located in southeast Georgia, borders Florida and is approximately 70 km from the Atlantic Ocean to the east. It covers an area of 2,347 square kilometers, ten square kilometers of which is water, and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Bacon County , Pierce County , Brantley County , Charlton County , Clinch County , Atkinson County, and Coffee County .
Ware County was formed on December 15, 1824 as the 60th County of Georgia from parts of Appling County. It was named after Nicholas Ware , a Mayor of Augusta and later a US Senator.

According to the 2010 census, the then 36,312 inhabitants were distributed over 13,654 inhabited households, which gives an average of 2.48 people per household. There are a total of 16,326 households.
67.4% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring) with an average size of 3.03 persons. There were children under the age of 18 in 33.3% of all households and persons aged 65 or over in 29.1% of all households.
26.3% of the population were younger than 20 years, 25.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 26.8% were 40 to 59 years old, and 21.1% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 38 years. 49.8% of the population were male and 50.2% were female.
66.4% of the population identified themselves as whites, 29.5% as African-Americans , 0.3% as Indians and 0.8% as Asian Americans . 1.5% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.5% to several ethnic groups. 3.3% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
The average annual income per household was 34,705 USD , while 28.1% of the population lived below the poverty line.
