The Dade County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Trenton , named after the city of the same name in New Jersey .

The county is in the extreme northwest, bordered by Tennessee to the north and Alabama to the west . It has an area of 451 square kilometers, has no significant water surface and borders on Walker County to the southeast .
The county is part of the Chattanooga metropolitan area .
history
Dade County was formed on December 25, 1837 as the 91st County in Georgia from parts of Walker County. It was named after Francis Langhorne Dade of Virginia , a major who was killed in fighting with the Seminoles in 1835.

According to the 2010 census, the then 16,633 inhabitants were distributed over 6,291 inhabited households, which gives an average of 2.49 people per household. There are a total of 7,305 households.
