The Clinch County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Homerville .

The county is located in southern Georgia and borders Florida to the south. It has an area of 2,135 square kilometers, of which 39 square kilometers are water surface and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Atkinson County , Ware County , Echols County and Lanier County .
history
Clinch County was established on February 14, 1850 from parts of Ware County and Lowndes Counties. It was named after General Duncan Clinch , who defeated the Indian chief Osceola in Florida in the Indian War of 1812 and later served in the US Congress.

According to the 2010 census, the then 6,798 inhabitants were distributed over 2,572 inhabited households, which gives an average of 2.58 people per household. There are a total of 3,007 households.
