The Laurens County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Dublin , named after the old home of Jonathan Sawyer's wife .

The county is located a few miles east of the geographic center of Georgia and has an area of ​​2,120 square kilometers, of which 16 square kilometers are water and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Johnson County , Treutlen County , Wheeler County , Dodge County , Bleckley County, and Wilkinson County .

history

Laurens County was formed on December 10, 1807 from parts of Wilkinson County and Washington County. It was named after Colonel John Laurens , a soldier and statesman from South Carolina during the American Revolutionary War .
