The Chattahoochee County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Cusseta .

geography

The county is in western Georgia and borders Alabama even to the west . It covers an area of ​​651 square kilometers, of which six square kilometers are water surface and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Talbot County , Marion County , Stewart County and Muscogee County .

The county is part of the Columbus metropolitan area .

history

Chattahoochee County was formed on February 13, 1854 from parts of Marion County and Muscogee County. It was named after the Chattahoochee River , which forms the western county boundary.
