The Colquitt County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Moultrie .

The county is located in southern Georgia, about 40 kilometers to the south from Florida's northern border and has an area of ​​1,441 square kilometers, of which eleven square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Worth County , Tift County , Cook County , Brooks County , Thomas County, and Mitchell Counties .

history

Colquitt County was formed in February 1856. It was named after Walter T. Colquitt , a general, preacher and politician.
