The Troup County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is LaGrange .

The county is located in western Georgia and borders Alabama . It has an area of ​​1,155 square kilometers, of which 83 square kilometers are water surface and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Heard County , Coweta County , Meriwether County and Harris County .

history

Troup County was formed from Land of the Creek Indians on June 8, 1825 as the 70th county of Georgia. It was named after Governor George Troup .

The average annual income per household was 42,545 USD , while 21.3% of the population lived below the poverty line.
