The Fannin County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Blue Ridge .

The county is located in northern Georgia, on the southern border of Tennessee and borders North Carolina at its northeasternmost tip . It has an area of 1,014 square kilometers, of which 15 square kilometers are water and is bordered clockwise in Georgia by the following counties: Union County , Lumpkin County , Gilmer County, and Murray County .
history
Fannin County was formed on January 21, 1854 as the 106th County in Georgia from parts of Gilmer County and Union County. It was named after Colonel James Fannin , who fought for the freedom of Texas with 350 volunteers in the Texas-Mexican War .

According to the 2010 census, the 23,682 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 10,187 inhabited households, which results in an average of 2.31 people per household. There are a total of 16,207 households.
