Panagiotis Giorgios Kone ( Greek Παναγιώτης Γεωργίου Κονέ , Albanian  Panajot Gjergji Koni , born July 26, 1987 in Tirana ) is a Greek football player . His preferred position is the offensive midfield.

Career

In the club

The son of Greek parents from Tirana played in his youth for Olympiacos Piraeus and the French club RC Lens . From 2005 he was part of the professional squad of AEK Athens , where he made his first appearances in the Super League . For the 2008/09 season he moved to Iraklis Thessaloniki . He remained there for two years and then moved to Brescia Calcio, with whom he in the 2010/11 season against relegation in the Serie A missed and in the Serie B relegation. However, Kone was loaned to FC Bologna for the following season and thus remained in Serie A. In 2012, FC Bologna signed him firmly. On August 13, 2014, the Greek moved from FC Bologna to the Italian first division club Udinese Calcio for 4.5 million euros. On February 1, 2016, Kone was awarded to AC Florence . After only one game for Fiorentina, Kone returned to Udine, but only made five appearances there in the first half of the 2016/17 season . In January 2017, Kone was awarded to Granada CF. This was followed by a loan to AEK Athens. In summer 2019 he moved to Australia in the A-League for Western United .

National team

Panagiotis Kone played for both the Greek U-19 and the U-21 national team .

He made his debut on November 17, 2010 in a friendly against Austria in the Greek national team .
