Juan Manuel Olivera , full name Juan Manuel Olivera López , (born August 14, 1981 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

According to the club, the 1.91-meter-tall, particularly strong header, offensive player Olivera began his career in 2001 at Danubio FC . He left the Montevideans in 2004 and joined the Argentine club San Lorenzo . CD Cruz Azul and CF Universidad de Chile were his next employers in 2005. In 2006 he returned to Danubio. From there he moved to South Korea for Suwon Samsung Bluewings in June 2006 . In March 2007, he moved on to Guizhou Renhe in Guiyang , China . From January 2008 a career station at Club Libertad followed . With the Paraguayans he scored five league goals that year and also played one game (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana . He then played again from 2009 to 2010 in Chile at CF Universidad de Chile, was Chilean champion with the team in 2009 and was extremely accurate there. He scored 37 goals in 42 first division matches. He also played 21 games (four goals) in the Copa Libertadores and five games (four goals) in the Copa Sudamericana with the Chileans . He was also voted the best foreign athlete in Chile by the Circulo de Periodistas in 2009. In 2010 he was under contract with Al Shabab and scored four goals in nine Pro League appearances. At the end of December 2010, he first joined the Club Atlético Peñarol . He ran eleven times with the "Aurinegros" in the 2010/11 season in the Primera División and scored five times in the opposing goal. In addition, there are 13 appearances in the Copa Libertadores with five goals for Olivera. After a stopover from August 2011 to July 2012 at Al Wasl , where the statistics show him 13 goals in 20 UFL games and four goals in eight cup games, he was again in the Peñarols squad in the 2012/13 season . For Apertura 2014 he returned to Peñarol for the second time. In the 2014/15 season he was used nine times (one goal) in the top Uruguayan league and five times (one goal) in the Copa Sudamericana 2014 . In early July 2015 he signed for the third time in his professional career with Danubio FC, for whom he had scored 40 goals in 98 appearances in his two previous engagements. In the 2015/16 season, he scored eleven times in 24 first division appearances. He also played two games (one goal) in the 2015 Copa Sudamericana . During the 2016 season he was then used eleven times in the league and scored five goals. In the 2017 season, 18 further premier league appearances (two goals) and two (no goal) in the 2017 Copa Sudamericana followed until the end of the 2017 Torneo Intermedio . In the second half of July 2017, he moved within the league to River Plate Montevideo .
