Tall Abyad District
The Tall Abyad District ( Arabic منطقة تل أبيض, DMG Minṭaqat Tall Abyaḍ ) is a Syrian district in ar-Raqqa governorate . It is located in the north of the governorate and borders on Turkey. The district achieved international fame through the battle for Kobanê . The district is part of the settlement area claimed by the Kurds in Syria, better known as Rojava or West Kurdistan.
