This was followed by positions at the local Nacional association and at Durazno. At the age of 17 he moved to Montevideo. There coach Daniel Carreño brought him to the first team Nacionals , where he made his debut in 2002 and played until 2007. With the Bolsos he was able to win three championships (2002, 2005, 2005/06). His achievements in South America did not escape the European clubs either, so that RCD Mallorca was able to announce its commitment in the summer of 2007. In the seasons 2007/08 to 2011/12 he played there from his debut on September 16, 2007 against Villarreal to his last league game on May 13, 2012 131 first division games and scored 23 goals. Since the 2012/13 season he has been in the ranks of Real Sociedad San Sebastián , where he played 31 games in the BBVA league in that season, in which he scored seven goals. In the 2013/14 season he made 23 other league appearances (two goals). He also played two games in qualifying and five games in the main Champions League competition . In the 2014/15 season, which his club finished twelfth in the table, he ran 32 times (four goals) in the BBVA League and three times (no goal) in the Europa League qualification. This was followed by eight first division appearances (no goal) for the club in the 2015/16 season. During the season he terminated his contract, which ran until June 30, 2016, and moved to Malaga FC in the first few days of January 2016 . There he made his debut on January 10, 2016 with a starting eleven in the away game at UD Las Palmas and played 16 first division games (one goal) in the 2015/16 season. He has made 29 league appearances and one goal for the 2016/17 season.
National team
"Chory" Castro made his debut on August 17, 2005 in the friendly international match against Spain's selection under coach Jorge Fossati in Gijón in the Uruguayan national soccer team. He was in the starting line-up, but was replaced by Mario Regueiro at the break . On October 26, 2005, he came to another use in the Celeste when he played the second half in the 3-1 loss to Mexico. He completed his third international game under coach Óscar Tabárez - also as a substitute at halftime - in the 2-0 defeat on November 15, 2006 against the national team of Georgia, which was then supervised by Klaus Toppmöller . This was followed by a long international break, before he was used again for the first time in the game against Poland on November 14, 2012. He played his fifth and so far last game for the national team on February 6, 2013. The opponent at this meeting was Spain.
