society

Roche began playing football with boys on the streets of Shankill, where she began her active career with Valeview FC . There she played in the male youth. In 2002 she switched to the Cabinteely Girls . After three years in the youth team of the Cabinteely Girls, she moved to Stella Maris in 2005 and formed the storm duo in the U-18 team with future national striker colleague Áine O'Gorman . In June 2007 Roche left the club and went to Dundalk City FC . In Dundalk, she scored two goals on her debut at 5-2 over Benfica Waterford. Roche stayed with Dundalk City for two and a half years and moved to Raheny United in June 2009 .

She signed with champions Peamount United in the summer of 2011 and made her UEFA Women's Champions League debut in August of the same year . Roche was awarded the Golden Shoe in the first season of the newly formed Women's National League after contributing 26 goals to the Peamount United championship last season. She also secured the FAI Women's Cup with Peamount and won the double with her team .

In October 2013, she made national headlines with a self-submitted volley. After the team manager posted a video of the goal on the YouTube video platform , it spread rapidly. It was her first goal of the season. For this goal she was nominated for the 2014 FIFA Puskás Prize .

In the summer of 2014, the French first division promoted ASPTT signed Albi Stephanie Roche, which she left in January 2015. She then switched to the NWSL participant Houston Dash , which she left after only two missions. In summer 2015 Roche joined the Sunderland AFC .

After several injuries in three years at Sunderland, her contract in Sunderland was not renewed in the summer of 2018. After curing a metatarsal fracture, she was without a club before signing a Serie A deal with CF Florentia in November 2018 .

In October 2008, she made her adult debut in a UEFA Euro Play-off game against Iceland, replacing Stef Curtis in the 85th minute .

In 2009 she played for the Irish university national team against the selection of Scotland.

In September 2009 Roche scored its first goal in a 2-1 win over Kazakhstan in World Cup qualifiers; in the second leg a month later she scored her second international goal. Roche has played 29 full internationals so far and scored five goals.
