Matthew "Matty" Burrows (born October 15, 1985 in Newtownards , County Down ) is a Northern Irish football player. He plays for Dundela FC, a Belfast club that plays in the third-tier Premier Intermediate League.

The left-footed player gained worldwide fame when he scored a spectacular goal with the hoe in added time in the game against FC Portadown in October 2010 . The video for this goal was clicked over a million times on the Internet platform YouTube . As a result, the IFA Premiership enjoyed unprecedented coverage. The English tabloid The Sun wrote that players like Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo would be proud to score such a goal. This goal was nominated for the FIFA Puskás Award.

In January 2012, Burrows moved for an undisclosed fee to league rivals Glenavon FC . He made his debut on February 4, 2012 in a 3-2 home win over Carrick Rangers. His first two goals for the new employer came a few weeks later. Despite Burrows' braces, Glenavon narrowly lost 4-3 to Cliftonville FC .

A year later, in January 2013, Burrows joined the Northern Irish second division club Ards FC. Burrows and his teammates managed to get promotion to the top division of Northern Ireland under one roof just a month before the last matchday this season.
