Gee is the first EP by the South Korean girl group Girls' Generation and was released by SM Entertainment on January 7, 2009 after the group had been on hiatus for nine months.

overview

The mini-album's title track, “ Gee ”, is a very fast pop song and is about a girl who fell in love for the first time. The title “Gee” is an expression of surprise, similar to “Eomeona!” ( 어머나 ! , Oh, my God! ). The song was written by the South Korean producer duo E-TRIBE . The rock-pop song "Way To Go" is a "full version" of "Haptic Motion" which was used as a promotional song for a Samsung advertising campaign . The music video for “Way To Go” contains scenes from the making-of for “Gee”. The text for “Dear. Mom “comes from pop singer Ivy under the pseudonym The Lighthouse .

A 44-page photo booklet was included with the mini-album. In Taiwan , the EP was distributed by Avex .

The EP reached number 1 on the monthly South Korean album charts .
