Seohyun (born June 28, 1991 in Seoul ), real name Seo Ju-hyeon , is a South Korean singer , dancer , model , actress and member of Girls Generation.

Life

Seohyun ( 서현 ) was born on June 28, 1991 in Seoul and grew up as an only child. Since her mother is the president of a piano school , she learned to play the piano at an early age. In 2003 she was discovered in the course of the SM Casting System and was signed to the talent agency SM Entertainment . On July 11, 2007, she was introduced as a member of SM's new girl group, whose name, Girls' Generation , was announced later.

On February 9, 2010, she graduated from Jeonju High School of Art ( 전주 예술 고등학교 ) and is currently attending Dongguk University .

Seohyun is single and has blood type A. She speaks Korean , Standard Chinese , Japanese and English .

Career

In 2009 Seohyun released the single Oppa Nappa ( 오빠 나빠 ) together with her bandmates Jessica and Tiffany under the name Roommate . Together they also published the promotional song Mabinogi (It's Fantastic) for the computer game of the same name.

In February 2009 Seohyun and Joo Hyun-mi released the Trot song Jjarajajja ( 짜라 자짜 ). The track was nominated for Trot Song of the Year at the Mnet Asian Music Awards.

Together with her bandmates Sooyoung and Yuri , she had a photo shoot with QTV on October 11, 2009 for the Dreaming Water project . This is a campaign by UNICEF and Cosmopolitan to preserve the environment and clean water. Seohyun is also an advertising model for various brands. In 2004 she modeled together with TVXQ for Smart Uniform and was a photo model in Vogue Korea . In March 2010 she promoted Clean & Clear together with Krystal from f (x) .

Furthermore, it is from 27 February 2010 Part of the MBC - reality show We Got Married . In this show, she forms a couple with Jung Yong-hwa from indie rock band CN Blue . A marriage of the two is simulated.

Furthermore, Seohyun and her bandmate Taeyeon were hired as voice actors for the Korean version of the animated film Despicable Me (2010). Seohyun lent her voice to the girl Edith .

Seohyun participated in the one for the South Korean TV series Kim Suro ( 김수로 ) with the title Apado Gwaenchanayo ( 괜찮아요 ). The song was released on June 25, 2010. Seohyun also starred in the music video for Oh! Naui Yeosinnim ( 오! 나의 여신님 ) of the band TRAX with. It can also be seen on the corresponding album cover.

Together with 19 other pop singers, she later sang the song Let's Go , which is part of South Korea's G20 campaign, as the Group of 20 met on November 11 and 12, 2010 in Seoul . The music video was released on October 13th, the single was released for download on October 15th .

A TVXQ and Seohyun song titled Journey is featured on TVXQ's Keep Your Head Down album. The music title is also the soundtrack to the TV series Paradise Ranch .

In 2016, she played the role of Woo-hee in the television series Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo . In the same year she played the supporting role as Ai Lin in the Chinese film So I Married an Anti Fan .

Girls' generation

The South Korean girls 'group Girls' Generation ( 소녀 시대 ; 少女 時代 ) was founded in 2007 by SM Entertainment . On August 2, 2007, their first single Into the New World was released . The first album Girls' Generation was the first by a girl group since 2002, which sold over 100,000 copies in South Korea. The group was able to build on this success with the following album and EPs.

In 2009 the group achieved a huge success with the title Gee . With the song, the group set a new record in the KBS telecast Music Bank on by reaching the top spot nine consecutive weeks. In August 2010, the group began to relocate their musical activities to Japan. In addition, Seohyun promoted together with various band mates for Nintendo, the Caribbean Bay water park, and the city of Seoul, among others.
