f (x) ( kor. 에프 엑스 ) is a four-member South Korean girl group that was founded in 2009 by the talent agency SM Entertainment . The group name refers to the mathematical representation of functions f (x) , where the letter "f" for "flower" (eng. For here flower should be), while the "x" the double female X chromosome is intended to represent. Her first single "La Cha Ta" was released on September 1, 2009 in South Korea. The band leader of the group is Victoria.
On March 8, 2013, she performed at the South by Southwest Music Festival gala in the United States.
In August 2015 it was officially confirmed that Sulli had left the band to focus on her acting career. The singer, who died in October 2019, was still looked after by SM Entertainment.
