Hyoyeon (born September 22, 1989 in Incheon ), full name Kim Hyo-yeon , is a South Korean dancer , singer and member of the band Girls' Generation .

Life

Hyoyeon grew up with her parents with her younger brother Min-gu. When she attended elementary school, she started taking dance lessons. In the local hip-hop school she learned hip-hop , jazz dance and Latin dance. From 1999 she attended the Winners Dance School , a dance school in South Korea that specializes in popping , locking , animation and other street dance styles. At school she formed the dance team “Little Winners” ( 리틀 위너스 ) together with the dancer Min, who is now a member of the girl group miss A. The duo had some dance performances and became known in the scene.

In 2000 Hyoyeon danced for the SM Casting System and was trained and educated by SM Entertainment. She learned her dance moves from the Electric Boogaloos and other world-famous choreographers such as Kim Hye-rang, Poppin Shin, Kwang Hoo (Crazy Monkey), and Shim Jae-won from Black Beat. Hyoyeon also masters the dances Jive , Ballet and Cha-Cha-Cha .

In March 2004, she and Choi Si-won traveled to Beijing to study Mandarin Chinese for eight months at The Second High School Attached to Beijing Normal University . That is why she speaks both standard Chinese and her mother tongue, Korean .

Hyoyeon is ambidextrous. She is a member of 문미 엔 ( Munmien ), a Christian group of stars from the cultural entertainment industry that come together to pray together.

Career

At the M.net KM Music Festival 2005, Hyoyeon was BoA's silhouette dancer during a performance . In 2007 she formed a dance team with Shim Jae-won and performed the song "Anonymous" by Bobby Valentino together . On July 9, 2007, Hyoyeon was introduced as a member of SM Entertainment's new girl band, whose name, Girls' Generation, was not announced until later.

On March 7, 2010, she and her bandmates Jessica and Sooyoung made a cameo on the TV series Oh! My Lady ( 오! 마이 레이디 ) from SBS .

Along with Sunny and six other pop stars, she is a regular member of the second season of Invincible Youth . The broadcast begins on November 12, 2011.

On November 28, 2016 it was officially announced that the dancer would be the third member of Girls' Generation to release her own solo album. The album with the title track Mystery is to be released on December 2, 2016 and actively promoted for two weeks. On June 1, 2017, she released her second single Wannabe .

The South Korean girls 'group Girls' Generation ( 소녀 시대 ; 少女 時代 ) was founded in 2007 by SM Entertainment . On August 2, 2007 her first single " Into the New World " was released. The first album Girls' Generation was the first by a girl group since 2002, which sold over 100,000 copies in South Korea. The group was able to build on this success with the following album and EPs.

In 2009 the group achieved a huge success with the title " Gee ". With the song, the group set a new record in the KBS telecast Music Bank on by reaching the top spot nine consecutive weeks. In August 2010, the group began expanding their musical activities to Japan. In addition, the group has been on a tour of Asia since December 2009.
