- Into the New World Girls' Generation Arena Tour 2011

Into the New World is a concert tour of the South Korean girl group Girls' Generation in Asia . This is the group's first tour. It started on December 19, 2009 in Seoul .

overview

In November 2009, SM Entertainment announced that Girls' Generation were going on a tour through Asia. The group gave their first two concerts on December 19 and 20, 2009 in the Olympic Fencing Stadium in Seoul in front of 6,500 visitors each. The tickets for the two concerts were sold out within three minutes. In addition to many different songs by the band, each of the nine members also had a solo appearance.

As an encore, Girls' Generation held two more concerts in Seoul on February 27 and 28, 2010. These two appearances differed somewhat from the previous concerts in the setlist.

Girls' Generation gave their first concert abroad on the tour on April 17, 2010 in Shanghai , China .

The planned concert in Bangkok was originally scheduled for May 29, 2010, but was postponed to July 25, 2010. But this performance was also postponed indefinitely due to the unrest in Thailand .

On October 16 and 17, 2010, the group held two concerts on the Pacific island of Taiwan . The concerts were sold out within an hour and a half. Over the two days, 24,000 visitors came to the Taipei Arena to see Girls' Generation live. In total they performed 36 songs. The group has been criticized in some Taiwanese media for singing playback . Some fans were also disappointed by that. However, SM Entertainment defended itself against the criticism. The group played more than 30 songs, which was very exhausting, and playback was only used on a few. This was necessary because of the elaborate dances. With two concerts, the group achieved a turnover of 5 million US dollars .

The concerts also featured other music groups that, like Girls' Generation, belong to SM Town , such as Super Junior , SHINee and f (x) .
