Tiffany Young (born August 1, 1989 in San Francisco , California ), real name Stephanie Hwang , is a South Korean - American singer of the pop group Girls' Generation .

Life

Tiffany ( 티파니 ) grew up in the Californian town of Diamond Bar as the youngest of three siblings. Her Korean name is Hwang Mi-yeong ( 황미영 ). In 2004 she sang Christina Aguilera's song “The Voice Within” at the SM Casting System in Los Angeles and thus became a member of the agency. On July 7, 2007, she was introduced as a member of the nine-member group Girls' Generation .

Tiffany is fluent in both her native English and Korean .

Career

In 2009, Tiffany released the single "Oppa Nappa" (" 오빠 나빠 ") together with her bandmates Jessica and Seohyun under the name Roommate . Together they also published the promotional song "Mabinogi (It's Fantastic)" for the computer game of the same name.

Tiffany also participated in the soundtrack for the TV series Jamyeonggo ( 자명고 ) on SBS with the song "Na Honjaseo" (" 나 혼자서 "). She also sang a duet with K.Will called "Sonyeo, Sarangeul Mannada" (" 소녀, 사랑 을 만나다 ") for his EP Dropping the Tears ( 눈물 이 뚝뚝 ; Nunmuri Ttukttuk ).

On May 14, 2009, The Blue released the mini-album The First Memories , which also includes the song "Neomaneul Neukkimyeo" (" 너 만을 느끼며 ") with Tiffany and her bandmate Sooyoung .

Together with Kim Hye-sung, she hosted the Mnet program Sonyeon Sonyeo Gayo Baekseo ( 소년 소녀 가요 des) from November 5, 2007 to June 13, 2008 . In addition, Tiffany hosted MBC's Music Core together with her bandmate Yuri from April 4, 2009 to July 31, 2010 . Due to the Japanese debut of Girls' Generations, both left the music show. On October 11, 2011, the two returned to Music Core after a year and three months , replacing miss As Suzy and T-aras Jiyeon. On January 28, 2012, Yuri left the show again to focus on her first drama Fashion King . Tiffany Music Core is currently moderating with her bandmates Taeyeon and Seohyun, with whom she also forms Girls' Generations first sub-group, TaeTiSeo.

On October 15, 2010, their single "Banji" (" 반지 ") was released. The track served as the theme song for the interactive web drama Haru ( 하루 ), produced by the Korean Tourism Organization.

From November 25, 2011 to January 29, 2012 she played the role of Carmen Diaz in the South Korean version of the musical Fame .

In 2012 Tiffany sang the song "Because It's You" for the drama Love Rain in which her bandmate Yoona played the lead role.

Girls' generation

The South Korean girls 'group Girls' Generation ( 소녀 시대 ; 少女 時代 ) was founded in 2007 by SM Entertainment . The group made their official debut on August 5, 2007 on the music show Inkigayo . The first album Girls' Generation was the first by a girl group since 2002, which sold over 100,000 copies in South Korea. The group was able to build on this success with the following album and EPs.

In 2009 the group achieved a huge success with the title " Gee ". With the song, the group set a new record in the KBS telecast Music Bank on by reaching the top spot nine consecutive weeks.

Furthermore, Girls' Generation are popular advertising media and advertised, among other things, Nexon , Nintendo , the Caribbean Bay water park , and the city of Seoul . In August 2010, the group began to relocate their musical activities to Japan.
