Transfer rights

Revelations at Football Leaks revealed that Atlético Madrid gave 40 percent of Saúl's transfer rights at the age of 16 to a group of investors for 1.5 million euros. With the minimum transfer fee of 45 million euros set by the current contract, the investors would achieve a profit of 1000 percent if the player were sold. A tax haven fund of what is currently the world's most powerful player advisor, Jorge Mendes , is involved in this deal . Due to numerous criticisms of these investor models, FIFA banned such so-called “third party ownerships” in 2015. Contracts that have already been concluded are excluded from this.

family

Saúl's brothers Jonathan (* 1985) and Aarón (* 1989) are also professional football players. Her father is the former soccer player José Antonio Ñíguez (* 1962).
