Career
society
Born in Vila Velha , Espírito Santo , Miguel Silveira started playing football at Desportiva Ferroviária from Cariacica . At the beginning of 2014 he joined the youth department of Fluminense Rio de Janeiro , but in June of the same year he switched to the offspring of rival CR Vasco da Gama . There he played for eleven months and then returned to Fluminense. During this time, at the age of 13, he also received his first advertising contract with the sporting goods manufacturer Nike and was watched with increasing attention by experts. At the age of 15 he was already playing successfully in the U17 team of Flu and in April 2019 he was promoted to the first team shortly after his 16th birthday. For the first time he was listed in Fernando Diniz's matchday squad on May 18, 2019 (5th matchday) in a 4-1 home win against Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte , but was not taken into account by this. On June 6, 2019, he made his debut in the 2-2 draw (1: 3 defeat after the penalty shoot-out ) in the Copa do Brasil 2019 in the first team when he came on for Nino in the 89th minute . This made him the youngest player in history to stand on the field for the men's selection. The next day he signed his first professional three-year contract with Tricolor . In the top Italian division he made his debut on July 16 (10th matchday) in a 1-1 draw against Ceará SC when he was substituted on for João Pedro in the closing stages . He played three league games this 2019 season.
In the Campeonato Carioca 2020, Silveira developed into a rotation player in the team.
National team
On March 1, 2019, 15-year-old Miguel Silveira was called up by head coach Guilherme Dalla Déa to join the squad of the Brazilian U15 national team for the 2019 U17 South American Championship in Peru . At the finals he was not used.
Style of play
Miguel Silveira is considered a very fast and technically adept offensive player and is capable of very fast body deceptions and turns due to his low body center of gravity, which, coupled with his dribbling , makes it difficult for defenders to stop him. In the media, he is often compared to Philippe Coutinho for these qualities and seen as one of the country's greatest talents.
