Marcelo Lomba , full name Marcelo Lomba do Nascimento , (born December 18, 1986 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian football player . He is used in the position of a goalkeeper .

Lomba 2012 at Bahia

Marcelo Lomba began his career in 2000 in the youth division of the CFZ do Rio, one of the youth training clubs of the former national player Zico . In 2001 Lomba moved to the youth department of Flamengo Rio de Janeiro . Here Lomba made it into the professional squad in 2006. When winning the national cup in 2006 Lomba was not in the squad. At first he was only the team's third goalkeeper. His first use as a professional was therefore only in 2008 in a game against local rivals CR Vasco da Gama . At FLA , Lomba made his debut at international club level. In the Copa Libertadores 2010 , he met the club at home on February 24, 2010 on the first matchday of the group stage on CD Universidad Católica . After Diego left FLA for the 2010 season, Lomba became the team's first goalkeeper for the championship round. He made his debut in the Série A on July 15, 2010. On the eighth day of the 2010 season , in the home game against local rivals Botafogo FR , he took the place between the posts for the first time. After that it was used in all 30 games of the competition. After coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo took over the team in 2011, it was decided that Lomba would be loaned to AA Ponte Preta for the games in the national championship , as Luxemburgo did not see him as the first keeper. The negotiations failed, however, and Lomba was only the reserve role that had been announced. On loan to EC Bahia for one year for the games in the 2011 championship round. During the season, Lomba played 33 out of 38 possible games and won several awards. Due to his good performance, Bahia signed Lomba in June 2012. The contract was valid until the end of December 2014. In the Bahia State Championship , Lomba played his 100th competitive game for Bahia on March 17, 2013 in the away game at Vitória da Conquista . On January 19, 2014, he completed 150 games for Bahia and on October 1, 2014, the 200th game for Bahia. In April of that year, Lomba extended its contract with Bahia to the end of 2017. After Bahia had to enter the Série B in eighteenth place at the end of the championship round in 2014 , Lomba was loaned out for 2015.

January 2015 it was announced that Lomba will go to AA Ponte Preta for one year . With the club he could continue to compete in the A series. At the end of the loan, Lomba returned to Bahia for the 2016 season. With this he had to expire in series B. In the course of the ongoing competition, Lomba's new club change became known.

Lomba 2017 at Internacional

In July 2016 he signed a contract with Série A Klub SC Internacional . In the club he was reserve goalkeeper behind the regular goalkeeper Danilo Fernandes . At the end of the 2016 season Internacional had to be relegated for the first time as 17th in the table. In 2017, Lomba only played the role of reserve player in the club, in which he did not appear in the league. At the end of the season, Internacional landed in second place and thus managed the direct promotion. After regular goalkeeper Danilo Fernandes was injured, Lomba was used more frequently for the 2018 season . He played eight games in the state championship of Rio Grande do Sul and 24 of a possible 38 games in the championship. In June 2018 Internacional extended the contract with Lomba prematurely until the end of 2020. Internacional was able to play for the championship for a long time again that year and finished third at the end of the season. Lomba was so convincing in the championship with his performances that he was elected to the selection team of the Prêmio Craque do Brasileirão .

National team

Lomba was a member of the youth teams in the U-15 and U-17 division. At the U-17 World Cup in 2003 , he was part of the victorious Brazilian squad, but was not used.
