Player career
Pampa Calvo started his professional career as a footballer with the Argentine top team Boca Juniors , with whom he won ten national and international titles from 2000 to 2006 in six years: 4 times the championship, 2 times the Copa Libertadores, 2 times the Copa Sudamericana and 2 times the Recopa Sudamericana. At the beginning of 2007, the talented defender was drawn as a loan player in Spain's premier league to Gimnàstic de Tarragona, who was in danger of relegation . Although he could not avoid relegation, he made the breakthrough in a top European league. After only fourteen appearances during the following season, Recreativo did not take the purchase option, so Calvo had to return to Boca.
