Marcelo Oliveira Ferreira , called Marcelo Oliveira , (born March 29, 1987 in Salvador , Bahia ) is a Brazilian football player . The left-footed player is used on the left side of defense or in central defense.

Career

Marcelo began his career in the youth team of the Corinthians São Paulo . In 2006 he made the leap into the professional squad. In the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A 2007 he played his first professional game against EC Juventude on May 13, 2007 . In the same season he scored his first goal as a professional. In the 1: 2 away win in the game against América FC (RN) on June 10, 2007, in the 54th minute, he scored the goal to equalize 1-1. With just one appearance in the Copa do Brasil , he won the 2009 Cup with Corinthians .

In 2010 Marcelo was loaned to Grêmio Barueri . With this, the player denied his first goal at international club level. In the Copa Sudamericana 2010 he played on August 5, 2010 against Atlético Mineiro . In the 2011 season he first started for Corinthians in the São Paulo state championship and the 2011 Copa Libertadores , but was then loaned to Atletico Paranaense . After the season, Marcelo was signed by the Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte from 2012 . After just one year in Série A, he was loaned to Palmeiras São Paulo in 2013 . In the year he managed with Palmeiras the championship in the Série B and thus the return to the top Brazilian league. After two years the contract ended and he was firmly signed by Grêmio Porto Alegre . Marcelo celebrated his greatest success with the club by winning the Copa Libertadores 2017 .
