Wilmer Santiago Acasiete Ariadela , short Santiago Acasiete (born November 22, 1977 in Callao ) is a former Peruvian football player . Through his time with the UD Almería , Acasiete also has a Spanish passport.
Player career
society
Santiago Acasiete started his football career in his Peruvian homeland in 2001 with Deportivo Wanka. There he became a regular player straight away. The following year he went to league rivals Universitario de Deportes . There, too, he quickly secured a regular place. The goal-scoring central defender moved again for the seasons 2003 and 2004 to play for league rivals Cienciano del Cuzco. With the club he won the Copa Sudamericana in 2003 . Then in 2004 Santiago Acasiete moved to the Spanish second division UD Almería . There, too, he was able to assert himself and prove his goal threat. In the 2006/2007 season he and his team were promoted to the Spanish first division.
After a total of eight years and more than 200 competitive games in Almería, Acasiete moved back to his homeland and signed with his previous employer, Club Sportivo Cienciano .
International
Santiago Acasiete is a Peruvian international. He participated in the Copa America in 2004 and 2007 . However, he is currently excluded from the game because he is said to have smuggled women and alcohol into the team hotel before the game against Ecuador .
