Walter Kannemann (born March 14, 1991 in Concepción del Uruguay ) is an Argentine football player . He is used in the position of a central defender , alternatively also on the left side of the defense. His strong foot is the left one.

Kannemann grew up in the Ciudad Evita for most of his childhood and youth . He was active in the CA San Lorenzo from the age of eight , with which he took part in children's tournaments and in recreational football. At the age of 14 he joined the club's youth division. With the entry of Diego Simeone as coach at San Lorenzo , the work in the youth field was revived and some players from the own youth made the leap into the professional squad, among them Kannemann. His debut in the Primera División (Argentina) made Kannemann on March 20, 2010, in the home game against CA Colón . In that game he was in the starting line-up. Kannemann also scored his first competitive goal for San Lorenzo in the league. On June 24, 2012, he scored in the home game against CA San Martín de San Juan in the 55th minute for a 2-1 lead (3-1). From the 2012/13 season, Kannemann developed into a regular at San Lorenzo and made his debut at international club level in 2013. In the Copa Sudamericana 2013 , his club joined him in the starting lineup on September 5, 2013 in the second leg of the second round against CA River Plate . With the 0-0 out of the game, San Lorenzo was eliminated from the competition after the 1-0 defeat in the first leg, but was able to celebrate an even greater success the following year. Kannemann competed in the MX league with Atlas . He made his league debut in the Clausura of the 2014/15 season on January 17, 2015. In the home game against Monarcas Morelia , he was in the starting line-up and also scored his first competitive goal for Atlas in the 67th minute . At Atlas , Kannemann scored his first goal in an international club competition. On April 22nd, 2015, in the final group game in the 2015 Copa Sudamericana , his club faced Independiente Santa Fe from Argentina. In the game he hit the next goal in the 61st minute to make it 2-1 (3-1). After Kannemann had played 48 competitive games (two goals) for Atlas , he left the club in July 2016. He moved to Brazil .

Kannemann signed a contract with Grêmio Porto Alegre until the end of 2019. Kannemann played the first competitive game for Grêmio on August 24, 2016 in the Copa do Brasil 2016 . In the second leg of the last 16, his club met Athletico Paranaense away from home . He was in the starting line-up in the game. At the end of the season Kannemann had denied in the tournament eight games, including two finals, in which Gremio against Atlético Mineiro won out. Four days later Kannemann came to his first game in the Brazilian Série A . On August 28, the 22nd day of the season 2016 played Grêmio with Kannemann been chosen against Atletico Mineiro . In the following season in 2017 he scored his first goal for Gremio . In the quarter-final first leg of the Copa do Brasil 2017 , the club had to deal with Athletico Paranaense .
