The FIFA Club World Cup 2014 ( Engl. : FIFA Club World Cup in 2014 ) was the eleventh edition of this global soccer competition for club teams. It took place from 10 to 20 December 2014 for the second time in Morocco , which had already hosted the previous year.
mode
There were no changes compared to the competition mode that has been in effect since 2007. The tournament was held with seven participants. In addition to the six winners of the continental championship competitions at club level from Asia (AFC), Africa (CAF), the Caribbean, North and Central America (CONCACAF), South America (CONMEBOL), Europe (UEFA) and Oceania (OFC), the Moroccan champions also competed who first had to play an elimination match against the winner of the OFC Champions League. If a club from Morocco had won the CAF Champions League, the best-placed non-Moroccan club would have qualified. The winner of the qualifying match played two participants in the semi-finals with the representatives of Africa, Asia and CONCACAF. The participants from Europe and South America, Real Madrid and CA San Lorenzo, were already seeded and thus only played two games each. The game was played in a knockout system . Eight games took place over eleven days.
